Rukoko Ruko

A young Sharlayan naturalist who recently graduated the Studium is thrust into control of a University of her own. Will she measure up to the legacy left by her predecessor?

The Story So Far

Born and raised in Aleport, Rukoko had a fascination with wildlife. Selected by a Sharlayan professor to join him as a student at the Studium, she chose to go and get an education for sake of her family.Bullied by her peers for being an outsider, and for her size, Rukoko spent much of her time at the Studium focused on her studies. Failing in making friends, she internalized her worries and struggles to put on a brave face.Focused on Naturalism and Arcanima, she began her final year at the Studium, and was approached by a very purple Miqo'te. Offered the opportunity to serve as headmistress of a school for her graduate assignment, she reluctantly agreed and became the Headmistress of Saint Reinette's University.She currently serves there, doing her best to live up to the expectations set by the previous headmistress. However, the weight of responsibility of the role weighs heavy upon her and she wishes to experience things a normal girl her age does, rather than be viewed as an instructor or person in a position of power.Ruko has since graduated the Studium, and works to make Saint Reinette's a welcoming place with support of her coworkers and friends.

Rukoko Ruko was twelve years old when she witnessed the Calamity from the safety of her bedroom window in Aleport. Watching Dalamud fall from the skies, shards of metal rocketing across the skyline, she caught a glimpse of Bahamut first hand as he sent an attack towards Pharos Sirius; destroying it. The subsequent flash of light blinding the Lalafell. In this moment, Bahamut attempted to temper her to his will, but... something happened, and he failed.
Partially failed.
Rukoko's fate became inexorably linked to that of the Dreadwyrm, and as a result, her aether took on properties of his own. This aetherial disturbance caused Louisoix's magicks to propel her parents away in a flash without her knowing where they ended up.
Branded a curiosity, she was taken in by Sharlayan, who studied her while allowing her to attend the studium.To those with Aethersight, they'd see her aether is a a bright red and orange, fire and solar aspected aether, appearing as a celestial nebula.Rukoko's interest in Au Ra comes from the subtle whispers of the Dreadwyrm's shade, pulling her towards eyeing the scaled women in an attractive light.Ruko burns through her corrupted aether quickly, causing her to consume large amounts of food to sustain her massive magick pool. As such, she is thinner than most Lalafell due to her rapid metabolism.

Photokeratosis

Also known as 'Snow Blindness', the afflicted suffers from blindness when viewing reflective or bright surfaces such as snow, water, metals, or certain sun rays. Rukoko suffers from this condition and as such, wears shaded glasses to relieve her symptoms. As such she will rarely remove her glasses unless indoors.
